YOUTH EDUCATION THROUGH SPORTS, INC. & NCAA ELIGIBILITY CENTER
PRESENT
YES Inc. SMARTBALL EDUCATION FORUM

With a lot of planning, negotiating and hard work, the NCAA Eligibility Center has partnered with Youth Education Through Sports, Inc. (YES Inc.) to execute an exclusive New York City Education Forum. The NCAA Eligibility Center is coming to NYC and reaching out publicly to student-athletes city-wide to present and explain the details of the newly established increased NCAA Eligibility Standards and to inform current and aspiring student-athletes how to qualify for athletic scholarships. The event will also acknowledge 24 SMARTBALL Classic participating high school basketball programs as the event's "VIP" participants.

The central theme for the YES Inc. SMARTBALL Education Forum is the NCAA Academic Standards. It is the outreach goal of YES Inc. to inform, educate and provide information about the new NCAA Freshman Eligibility Requirements to aspiring student-athletes, parents, grassroots/AAU sports organizations & leagues coaches and administrators. In addition, the YES Inc. SMARTBALL Education Forum will inform student-athletes and parents about the information and academic guidance services that "all" high schools are required to provide to aspiring college-interested, athletic scholarship seeking student-athletes.

Parents, in particular, are encouraged to attend and will be informed about the increased NCAA Academic Standards and encouraged to begin working with their children as soon as they enter middle school to assure academic success.

The YES Inc. SMARTBALL Education Forum in partnership with the NCAA Eligibility Center and in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 12:00 pm ? 3:00 pm, at the Riverbank State Park, Cultural Center, located at 679 Riverside Drive @145th Street in Harlem, New York.

The SMARTBALL Classic is the "Signature" education-based sports program of Youth Education Through Sports, Inc. (YES Inc.), a New York City based not-for-profit social enterprise. The Mission of YES Inc. is: "To Get Student-Athletes 'In-Need' College Ready!" YES Inc. provides supplemental education services via the SMARTBALL Education Initiative to help student-athletes graduate from high school "on schedule", qualify for the college of their choice, satisfy the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) freshman eligibility requirements, qualify for athletic and academic scholarships and prepare for life and careers after sports participation. YES Inc. institutional partners include: The Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME) at Teachers College, Columbia University, the College Board and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
