Rumors began to swirl with regard to 6’9” power forward Sidiki Johnson. Originally playing with St. Raymond HS in the Bronx, NY, Johnson transferred to St. Benedict’s in NJ. Most recently, Johnson transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson (Va.) for his senior year. On Sunday, NYCHoops.net learned that Johnson was dismissed from the Virginia school.
According to a reliable source, Johnson is in fact no longer enrolled at Oakhill Academy and that the Arizona recruit was dismissed for violating an undisclosed team rule
In addition to Johnson, teammate Ben McLemore was also reportedly dismissed form Oak Hill Academy.
According to the source, the dismissal of Johnson from Oak Hill will not affect, his eligibility and inclusion in the 2011 class at Arizona.
The source also confirmed that Johnson is in the process of locating a school in which to complete his core courses and other high school requirements. It is unsure whether or not the school that Johnson tranfers to will be in New York.
