So now that the whole Super Bowl hoopla is over can we talk about what went down on Friday night at Bishop Loughlin. I've heard from people that it was definitely a flagrant foul and i have also heard from people that it was an old school hard foul (a college coach said this). This was part of the game and was a unfortunate accident that Mike got hurt but how does someone run onto the court from the stands and punch a player in the head? I've said this before Christ the King vs Loughlin at Loughlin should not be played in that gym. They do not control the amount of people that walk into that gym for that game. It is always over crowded. If I'm a parent of a Loughlin player I'm suppose to feel safe now that my child has to go play at Christ the King on Sunday after what just happened. How is Mike Williams brother not being arrested for this assault? So if I'm Rutgers I'm suppose to be cool with this. What had happened if this was next year at the RAC? Mike goes in and tries to dunk it on someone the kid fouls him hard. What happens if the brother runs on the court and hits the player. I bet you he's walking out of there in hand cuffs. I knew it was going to be a good game but I refused to go because it was going to be a zoo in there. I have watched high school basketball games in many gyms in NYC for many years both PSAL and CHSAA. and the only gym i don't feel safe in is Loughlin when they play CTK. I'm surprised no one has brought this up but Friday was a sad day for NYC basketball. A great game ruined by administration being careless and stupid.

I think this was an unfortunate perfect storm of a heated rivalry, too much tolerance by refs of trash talking and bravado along with too many people in the gym and too little security set off by hard hard foul that appeared to send a kid almost landing on his head and luckily avoiding career ending injury.
Hopefully lessons will be learned and applied. It could've been worse.

I'm glad someone brought this to light, considering that Nychoops.net was at this game, and omitted that a student athlete was assaulted , in the game story. Bishop Loughlin knew that they had an issue with Mike Williams brother earlier this season, yet they let him back in the school and didn't demand that he be arrested after he assaulted at CTK player, even though police officers were at the game. No play in a basketball game, calls for a family member of ANY player to come onto he court to blindside anyone on the court.
When will the nonsense end, in a game between both schools at St Francis Prep two years ago, a relative of Coach Gonzalez came out of the crowd and began to shout threats at the CTK's bench. If you ask me after two double technicals and an assault on a player, the game should've been suspended. The referees and administration had no control from the start.

The worst part about this is that the next guy is going to think that it's fine to do this cause nothing happened to Mike Williams' brother. How about if the next guy has a weapon and severely or fatally hurts a player. This is a shame and Loughlin's administration should be brought up on this. If I'm Rutgers after all the sh*t I have gone through this past year I would think hard about this. I'm bringing this kid and his family to my school. I think Mike Williams is a great kid and very respectful but if I'm Rutgers I'm not allowing his brother into my gym after what happened last Friday. Like Queens Phenom said this was not his first incident in the school. It's mind boggling how he was allowed back into Loughlin's gym after being escorted out once already this year. The crazier sh*t I heard he was escorted out for verbally abusing his own brother during a game. I just like going to watch good basketball games with my son but how am I suppose to bring him to the game on Sunday and feel like it's going to be safe. I'll be there Sunday cause I know I'll be alright but not taking the risk of taking my son. It should be a good game too.

In my village that are raising my children, we push education. So with that being said, we have athletic scholars, not DUMB JOCKS or THUGS. Therefore, my athletes would NEVER PLAY DIRTY! no matter what their sport. So they wouldn't get a sucker punch from an angry fan.

Kid/man refers to how old is he really? We were all at the game, and it was a wrestling clothes line, not a hard foul. Just like he hit the bench player in the face (while he was on the bench) AJ arms were straight up. He did not swing. Rawlie flopped and was not hurt. Never mind the constant elbows being thrown by ctk. Just play clean basketball. Again, and again, no one is condoning the after incident. It's a week old. The season is almost over. Let It be over? The bigger picture is thank God Mike is okay. Just wondering what the talk would be like if that wasn't the case. Hmmm? Well I'm done. Let's just hope that Adonis did not mean it when he told reporters that ctk was going to come out exactly like they did last Friday. That they were not going to change anything on Sunday. Sorry, I forgot to address your dumb jock and thug question. Dumb jocks should be self explanatory. To many people still push sports over education which does a disservice to the child. There is thug behavior by these players on the court.

Adonis is 19, the same age as a player on Loughlin so let's not open up that can of worms. I'm not sure why you mentioned Rawle, it was Andre who hit the floor after running into AJ, and trust me that was no flop. I'm pretty sure if a fan of Molloy or SFP reffered to Loughlin's team as dumb jocks or thugs you would be pissed.
