Puerto Rico Basketball National Teams Tryouts in NY and NJ!!!!

San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rico Basketball Federation announced today its plans to hold three tryout practices for the New York/New Jersey area for players that have Puerto Rican heritage. The selected players would be participating with the Puerto Rico U-18, U-16 and U-15 Nationals Teams for their upcoming 2012 FIBA international season.

The tryout will take place on:
? Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Paterson Eastside High School, 150 Park Avenue, Paterson NJ 07501 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

? Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. Francis College, 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

? Saturday, October 22, 2011 at SCAN NY/El Faro Beacon School (120 ST between 1st and 2nd Avenue) in East Harlem, New York from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Eligibility:
? Players who were born in Puerto Rico
? Players which any of his parents were born in Puerto Rico
? Players which any of his grandparents were born in Puerto Rico

Age Group:
? Players who were born from 1994 thru 1998

“In Puerto Rico there are a little less than 4 million people. However we estimate that in the continental US there should be around 5 million people with Puerto Rican heritage. We want to identify the basketball talents that do not live on the island and offer them the opportunity to represent Puerto Rico in the different international competitions” said Mr. Carlos Beltran, President of the Puerto Rico Basketball Federation.
