Forget MMA. Forget boxing and WWF. Wanna see a good fight just go to a
PSAL Brooklyn basketball game. Today's game between boys and lincoln was off the
charts. They fought on the court. They fought in the stands. Even the
coaches jawed at each other. I thought I was in the wrong building. I
was there to see a basketball game.

Sad state of affairs in Brooklyn. Home of PSAL Classless AA and the Nets.

the altercation happen a little before the first quarter and the events in the stands happened 1:15 left in the 4th quarter. So you had plenty of good basketball to see . don't take away from how well Myers, whitehead, the Davis kids from Lincoln played. Things like this happens on all levels everyday. It's part of a game called basketball. I just hate when you haters don't give credit when it's due. Lincoln out played boys today on all levels. But I guess you want to see a nice clean game with a score of 40 to 30? Ok go to NJ then. And stop hating on the PSAL.

I wasn't hating. I was being honest. It looked like you guys were actually hating... on each other. Real basketball games don't have to be stopped early because its outta control. That nonsense is not part of the game of basketball except in Brooklyn I guess.

Stop it TopDawg. It was one game. Don't call the entire conference "classless." That's not fair to other teams in Brooklyn. Why is everything always have to be negative with you?

Because hes a hater who never got a chance to be a ball player. If he did then, maybe he would understand a visiting team cant control what goes on in the stands. But Moe allow guys like this to make comments because you need them to get hits lololololo. Yes its a brooklyn thing just count the chips in the borough. Stay away if you cant handle it.

I love a good hard fought basketball game same as the next guy but if you think violence enhances a basketball game I will agree to disagree.

Stereotypes are unfortunate and sad but ask 100 people where the most fights break out in high school basketball, the overwhelming majority of people will say Brooklyn PSAL. Why because there are those that actually glorify and embrace the stereotype and say "Yes its a brooklyn thing just count the chips in the borough. Stay away if you cant handle it."

Trevonn11 you should try debating the topic instead of attacking the messenger. I'm not a hater. I'm just a guy with an opinion that many on here seem to feel I shouldn't be entitled to speak on.

As far as saying something positive about that game, here it goes. I'm glad they had medal detectors and refs
intelligent enough to pull the plug on it before someone got hurt.

Well I will say that, this is one of the reasons why schools stop having spectators. This is what Brooklyn basketball is coming too. The adults at these games are just as bad. They don't listen to the officers and often cause a problem. The next thing that will be happening is arrest. Then people will be upset. If you are with people at these games, you should try to calm them down. Everybody knows each other. Stop this junk before the rules change. Trust me things is going to change. the players should be the first people To control themselves . In every game, there is a winner and a loser. Is this why some of us don't get picked for good colleges? Not only academics but behavior.

You hit it right on the head whatyouwant. Coaches are more worried about high school championships and less worried about getting these kids into college. Right behind talent and grades, college look for behavioral issues. Is this kid gonna wild out when he gets to college?

Boys an girls have the most PSAL championshps and I think they are going for a 4th.. Go their games and you'll see the last three championship classes right their in the stands re-living their glory days, doing everything but going to college because they couldn't get in.

Go get your chips coaches but remember the PSAL isn't a pro league where the bottom line is winning to put food on the table and pay bills. High school coaches should be getting these kids ready for college, skillfully, mentally, physically and behaviorally.

Look @ this dude ready to POUNCE lmaoooo ,WE ALL KNOW THERE IS NO PLACE FOR THIS KINDA STUFF IN HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS .BUT LET'S NOT ACT LIKE IT HAPPENS EVERY OTHER DAY IN PSAL ....STOP IT 5!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately these things happen every once in a while. I have been around PSAL sports since 1984. I can tell you about a few throw downs that went from the gym floor, to the stands and then to the street and the parking lot. It isn't just basketball either and it isn't just the hood. Check New Utrect baseball fans from back in the 1980s or Elmont Football. Soccer moms on Long island and Pop Warner pops out in the midwest. People act like fools over amateur sports. That said, don't blame the PSAL blame the people in attendance. Did you see Danny Harris out there throwing joints, Donald douglas mixing it up or the lovely Yolanda Alford or Brenda morgan kicking those heels off and putting grease on their faces or scarfs on their head? No you didnt. It was the people in attendance at the game.

I remember the brawl at Robeson (some people are saying, "which one"? LOL) between Jefferson and Robeson and it costed Robeson their season. I never want to see fights taking place on a "safespace" like a high school basketball court. I have a solution though. The average piece "dirt" that would come on the court and participate in a brawl, here's how you eliminate that...charge $5 for students with ID and $10 for adults. That's how you eliminate the savage beasts from the students and parents their for support and to see the contest. Someone could have got killed. As a survivor of the CCNY Celebrity Basketball event in Harlem, I can tell you that seeing people trampled to death with blood coming out of their nose and mouth from internal bleeding is no joke.

That is one of the best rivalries in basketball and it came to this. Sad but a reality of people and fans gone whacko. The PSAL is going to come down big on this one. school principals and ADs look for an email advising schools to curtail their spectators because this is going to affect all of the PSAL.

Trevon11 I hear you but you are graduating and won't witness the changes that will take place because of this. I don't think you understand that this thing ended luckily with nobody dead. Your peeps came to the game and ate food and that should be the bottom line but it isn't. you may experience that before you leave. how are the boroughs going to be held with schools having a normal spectator policy in Brooklyn now? I love going to Brooklyn for games but I got money that says this will kill it for the teams there. When you come back to visit when you are in college and they don't let you in, you will feel it. Definitely not blaming you but watch...The mayors office is involved with this one.

Top Dawg is once again a little misled on the topic but his opinion on this one is dead on. He obviously isn't a street person but life is not judged by the rules of the street. Safety first and the repercussions for this one will be big.

You know what? People like topdawg is part of the problem! When the messenger exaggerates the truth to make an entire population look bad then that's worse then the few negative people that were in the gym. To me, the situation was controlled quickly and safely. It's unfortunate that it happen but my beef with people like top dawg is they seem to try and attack the psal every chance they get. If you can't give some positive words to prevent the situation, Then stop with the negative energy. There was a scuffle and the game went on. The refs called many fouls on both teams to control the game. point blank. If you want to attack someone, attack the people involved or the schools not an entire league. That's classless

Well Said Trevon11, but unfortunately Liability is a strong word and the PSAL and the students and parents got away clean on this one. they are not going to wait for another near miss. Top Dawg has a black belt at pointing out the negative. I had a theory over the years as to how he keeps his identity a secret. I thought he was Wingate at one point drumming up views. I was wrong on that one. I thought he was Stacey Light. Nope. I do think he works for this site in some capacity to piss people off and keep some dialect going. If I'm wrong, why is he allowed to say some of the reckless things he does? thats his role. having something negative to say and get a rise out of people. he can't be a real person. he would have been exposed by now. one thing for sure is he will never, ever say who he is.

PSAL guy is right in that this happens everywhere. Look no further than "hockey dad" from years ago who beat another dad to death due to something that happened between their sons on the ice. I've seen stuff break out everywhere from New Rochelle, to Brooklyn AA, to quaint towns on Long Island, to out of state...it's not a Bklyn AA problem - it's a youth sports problem. But when it happens often in the PSAL's prime league, bad news travels fast. Last year at the Boys-Jeff game two senior citizens were escorted out and one was waving a cane! Polident was flowing all through that flare-up. But when its two powerhouses and especially if it happens at a school like Boys High (possibly slated for closure), the media and DOE will run with it and keep it on file. Rough play and on-court blow-ups come with the territory, but the adults are the main problem. They're living vicariously through these kids and have no lives of their own. As Top Dawg said, many are alum or parents who played and screwed up their own lives who're still in the hood and feel they need to get involved. Neutral and remote sites or jacked up admission costs for games? Who knows?

You all have some valuable points but, just take a GOOD look at which schools, and who's home games all these problems are come out of. Please! don't post blame on all the other teams and their fans with all this nonsense that's going on with these other programs. I've attended many games in Brooklyn and it was just a few school that had ZERO CONTROL over their player and fans." we all know who they are" so lets stop it with the PSAL in which do have some the best talent. I am a parent of a STUDENT Athlete. The best thing we all can do is come together and save our youths of tomorrow. Thanks for allowing my reply.

Helpusall the truth is that the schools that have the biggest pow wows are in Brooklyn. Thats also the borough with the highest crime rate in the city. There are maybe 10 schools safety officers on duty at a Brooklyn PSAL game (compared to 2 in manhattan, or 4 in Queens or the Bronx). The bottom line is we are all accountable for each other because what happens in Brooklyn effects the entire PSAL. The light is shinning on Brooklyn AA because they have the best teams and the best talent. Then this happens?

The PSAL is already changing the academic standards for participation next year because of BROOKLYN BASKETBALL. Yeah, I said THAT! I have no dillusions that over the last 9 years, with the exception of JFK, Brooklyn is where the titles have come from. When a story like this breaks, Im sorry, then whole league gets a bad name. When woman form Glenn Cove Long Island threw hot coffee in the umpire's face, did people turn their backs on all white women? Why? Because she was a lone nut and that doesnt happen often. There is a fight every single year in the Brooklyn AA. People are going to start turning their backs on the PSAL.

Yes! PSAL, there is 10 or more SSD agents that attend Brooklyn games. Due to the FACT that Brooklyn is the largest borough with the most schools and also with the largest number so student attending. Is it okay to say that there's a minimum of 2,500 students in some schools and some have well over 3,000 students. Now don't you think it about evens itself out compare to the schools that have 900 to 1,500 students. Not to mention some of the players disrespectful friends and spectators that attend some of these games and forget to leave the streets where they belong. I'm not saying all but the ones that do attend causes a "real ruckus". In which they should NOT be aloud in any event do to their immaturity..... Those are the human or should i say the uncivilized people that make it unsafe for all. As for the NCAA cracking down on our kids EDUCATION, who can say anything against that. I'm all for tougher standers, at lease we'll know they'll have their right NYS certification classes to graduate and hopefully their right NCAA core classes as well. This will make the eligible to participate on the next level. How many COACHES or parents know that?????????? Lets all HELP our KIDS, were going to soon to be the last of the Mohegan. everybody that have some concern, chip in and stop killing one another with your opinion and facts and HELP! Nah some of you don't want that to happen because we like seeing our people FAIL.

@ psal ,you think charging people will calm it down ? I don't think that will do it
Heck a game like Lincoln vs Boys and girls ,they probably was charging 15 @ the
Door .....CTK vs Boys high I paid 15 bucks

It's suppose to be a FRIENDLY RIVALRY ........ seems to me its more BEDSTUY VS C.I

Word I said the same ish,,,,TOP DAWG is allowed to say WILD ISH its no way he don't work for this Site

Bottom line on this issue ,Control ya spectators but visting teams also must do the same .We can't act
Like certain teams don't carry a entourage to AWAY games who FIRE up people then the HOME TEAM gets
The blame ,a lot of that happens Also ....

Listen. I say whats on my mind. You want fluff and happy happy thoughts post them yourself.. PSALguy said what I said about Brooklyn PSAL and then some and for some reason its cool. Nobody was upset when Trevon11 embraced the violence as what Brooklyn basketball is about and said don't come if I can't handle it. I call it as I see it and people start whining. I may have strong opinions and you may disagree but I don't call people names. I only talk about their game. If a player can't play in my opinion. I say it. If I don't like a game I say it and I dind't like that game.. NYC basketball is slowly evaporating and you want me to say something positive.? As long as people make believe we don't have a problem the worse the problem will get.

.I say NYC high school basketball needs to clean up its act and put the word student back in front of student-athlete. Ive always said that. The people who can make that happen are inside of the school system. Coaches, parents, school and PSAL administrators,

Helpusall I'm glad to hear that the PSAL is gonna crack down on academics. I'm glad the NCAA is cracking down on academic. I'm tired of watching optical illusions. Kids with talent who can't qualify and use that talent to make a better life for themselves.

Stop being sooooooooooo sensitive people. If you don't like what I say just don't read it but I will not call an orange a watermelon or that the 49ers really won the superbowl.

Have a great evening..

Trevon11 was not the reason the violence took place and wasn't involved. he DID NOT embrace it he accepted it and has seen it before. So his attitude is naturally "hey I just work here". He responded to your criticism the way most people do with a little frustration and possibly the wish that he could get his 5 minutes with you. No harm there.

Helpusall, good points and thank ou for calling to the carpet the people who need to grow up, take responsibility for their actions and stop taking the race back 20 years every time they do something to end up on Worldstarr or You Tube. I believe Malcolm X, Marcus Garvey, Bob Marley and Martin Luther King cry and curse in the graves when they think they died for some us to act like we still belong in chains. The academic Renaissance begins when parents start checking homework again and punishing their kids and learning to say no to them and stop hiding their shortcomings with expensive coats, sneakers and electronic devices. Stop blaming coaches, schools and society and raise your kids or stop having them and expecting them to raise themselves.

Finally, Top Frog, I get a little more lee-way because I am in the mix and part of the front line to change negative things with the kids. While you go to games and pop sh-- on the internet, I'm at games and meeting with the PSAL and police, and other coaches in the the city and anybody who is vested in NY basketball. You have to learn that opinions are to be shared but opinions are entitled and have no real impact on change. In the long run we are happy to have an entity like you, because you spark thought, diatribe and attract real people who have good input to real problems. for that, we are all thankful from the people who have something to offer.

Value Top Frog or whatever alter-ego he or she really is because in life, he is the Larry Elders, Wendy Williams, Rush Limbaugh or Armstrong Livingston forces that keep our teeth sharp and our planners filled. just trust me, this Top Frog is somewhere laughing saying job well done. If he is not and is really a real person and is really serious, he has to be the most miserable person in the world with the most free time on his hands.

"Yes its a brooklyn thing just count the chips in the borough. Stay away if you cant handle it."
Trevonn11

Guess you missed that post.

Other than the fact that you like to name call (ie Top Frog) its enjoyable debating topics with you PSALguy. Instead of debate, most others on here just whine. I wonder if you notice that I never return the favor and make fun of your screen name. Like I said, name calling is beneath me. I use to do that kinda stuff in kindergarten. Nowadays, I talk about the topic and about the game.

You are out of the loop dude.

The comment he made was in reference to CHAMPIONSHIPS. Stay away if you can't handle it was not a glorification of violence LOL! You are a funny dude man. He is saying that violence or not, Brooklyn is taking it.

OMG. SMH.

what are you, his interpretor, public relation rep?

The thread was about the violence at the game. He defended the behavior basically saying this is how we do it in Brooklyn. I guess only he knows what he meant but since you've given him his talking points I can bet what he's gonna say.

Anyway, I've learned alot from both you and helpusall. Looks like there may be light at the ends of the tunnel instead of an oncoming train.

Well so much to say about violence at Brooklyn games. Jefferson & Lincoln just had a GREAT game with NO violence nor tempers flaring. It didn't seems to matter who won, all the Coaches & players got on line, shook hands, and embraced one another. As for the spectator, they all act like civilizied humans. I was more comfortable at that game. It was a full capasity game and all those kids walked away a WINNER. Going back to my point, it's not all the Brooklyn teams that causes ruckus, oh excuse me, just a selected couple. Now we have to get that selected few on the same page so we can enjoy watching so good game. Lets show the DOE/PSAL we can do this together. I plan on checking out some more of those good Brooklyn AA games. Thanks for hearing me.

The spot is hot. Violence is done for the year. word gets around quick. Lincoln and Jefferson are label mates. Its Lincoln and Boys that are hyenas and lions.

Its exciting, I mean violence. I got cash that Lincoln and Boys will be in the same bracket.

BROOKLYN IS THE BEST LEAGUE IN NYC SOMETIMES TEMPERS FLAIR--THATS HOW IT GOES SOMETIMES--THEY ALL WANT THAT "W" AND THE FANS GET CAUGHT UP IN THAT--FANS ARE VOCAL THATS THE BROOKLYN WAY I DO NOT CONDONE WHEN FANS ACT OUT--THATS ALL BS AND SHOULD NEVER BE TOLERATED---I CAN UNDERSTAND THE PLAYERS GETTING "IN TO IT" THEY ALL KNOW EACH OTHER AAU--LOCAL PARKS PARTIES--ETC SOME LIKE EACH OTHER SOME DONT LIKE EACH OTHER--THAT ALSO IS LIFE--- WE ARE TRYING TO MOLD YOUNG IMPRESSIONABLE YOUNG MEN INTO MATURE WELL ADJUSTED RESPONSIBLE ADULTS--THATS THE BOTTOM LINE ALL THIS BALL PLAYING IS A WAY TO GET INTO COLLEGE--AND A WAY TO HAVE SOME GREAT MEMORIES FOR YOUR LIFETIME----I WILL SAY THIS I AM NOT AFRAID TO ATTEND ANY GAME IN ANY LOCATION---I KNOW STUFF CAN POP OFF AT A MOMENTS NOTICE--THATS HOW IT GOES--

I went to American Sign Language vs. Albert Einstein and two parents in the audience were fighting over a pocket dictionary.

LOLOLOLOL TOP FROG LOLOLOL HEY THE REASON I SAID COUNT THE CHIPS IS THE WAY IT IS. BROOKLYN WINS AND TOP FROG TO ME THE GAME WASNT OUT OF CONTROL ITS WAS 2 MINS. OF KIDS UPSET AND 10 MINS. OF 2 OFFICIALS THAT COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT BUT WHY ELABORATE ON THAT WHEN PEOPLE ARE GETTING SHOT IN OTHER BOROUGHS. YOU MUST BE DOWN WITH THIS SITE. LOLOLOLOL YOU LIKE THE CONVO LOLOLOLO IF I WAS PROMOTING VIOLENCE THEN I SHOULD'VE BEEN FIGHTING THE OTHER NIGHT WHEN I LOST BY 7 AT HOME AND THE VISITING TEAM SHOT 29 FREE THROWS TO OUR 6 ATTEMPTS.
