The Urologic Research Institute will sponsor the Cancer Research Classic (CRC) on January 8, 2011, at Wheeling Jesuit University’s Alma Grace McDonough Center in Wheeling, WV. This high school boys’ basketball tournament promotes men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, erectile dysfunction, urinary disorders (BPH and overactive bladder), obesity, wellness, heart disease, diabetes and hypertension. Health care screenings will also be available and administered by physician residents. The proceeds of the CRC support our undergraduate cancer research and medical physics programs.

This year’s games are as follows:

12:30 p.m. - Rice (New York, NY) vs. Northland (Columbus, OH)
2:00 p.m. - DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD) vs. St. Andrew’s (Barrington, RI)
3:30 p.m. - Archbishop John Carroll (Radnor, PA) vs. Wheeling Park (Wheeling, WV)
5:00 p.m. - Gonzaga (Washington, DC) vs. Christ the King (Middle Village, NY)
6:30 p.m. - Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia, PA) vs. Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, NY)
8:00 p.m. - St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia, PA) vs. Wheeling Central Catholic (Wheeling, WV)

Game times are estimated. Games will begin approximately 20 minutes after completion of the prior game.

The admission fee is $4.00 for a student and $7.00 for an adult.
