Press Release: The NY Jayhawks Strike GOLD as They Continue to Build on-and-off the Court!

Over the past few years, the NY Jayhawks have evolved and grown from a local youth basketball team to a nationally recognized community-based youth program. The efforts put forth by their past and present directors, coaches, players and supporters have helped pave the way for the success that is currently happening right before their eyes. The program’s recent successes include their first collegiate graduating class (’17) and a college scholarship recipients list that will be at 50 student athletes by the end of this year.
With just over a month remaining until the beginning of the 2018 AAU season, the Jayhawks will look to continue their mission of “Building Men”. This year they will be providing two teams for each age group (15u, 16u & 17u). One team will participate on the Adidas Gold circuit. The other will participate primarily on the Adidas Silver circuit, along with playing in Hoop Group, Zero Gravity and Elevate Hoops events. The purpose of the Silver team is to provide students from the tri-state area with more scholarship opportunities and access to higher learning.
Looking ahead, they’ll be having their annual tryouts March 10that their Long Island home court (Nx Generation Athletics) and March 17th at their Queens home court (Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens).
