After a year off Thurgood Marshall Academy will be hosting the 6th installment of the Brown versus the Board of Education Classic this year the event will be on Saturday January 28, 2017 at the Harlem School. In the past the tournament has had players such Justin Burrell(St. Johns) Brian Williams(Tennessee) Steven Ruple(Adams State), David Seagers(Dowling College), Dimencio Vaughn (Rider University), Nick Murphy(Jacksonville State), Tyshawn Myles(Drexel), Paul Scotland (Florida A&M) and Kyle Williams(Grambling State) as well as countless others who have went on the play division one basketball. Come be a part of tradition. It will be a one day showcase where games will be filmed and each team will walk away with a game DVD, a participation award and other giveaways. College coaches will be in attendance at the event.
Games in the past tournaments were exciting and competitive with great exposure from media outlets such as Gotham Hoops and NYCHoops and a good group of college coaches from all levels. This classic is a great opportunity to warm up for league play and get quality competition.
