Satellite Academy 51
John Bowne 38

The score doesn't reflect how good of a game this really was. Going into the 4th the the game was tied up and John Bowne who was eliminated round one in a blowout last season at SBC looked poised and playing like they were ready to advance and then... The wheels fell off the bus and quick, bad, ill-advised shots rained supreme early in the 4th. Bowne Coach Rob Diaz, pleaded with his troops to get it back in order, but the experienced Satellite Academy coaching staff and athletes smelled the uncertain thoughts and stepped on the gas to close it out and advance to the Elite 8. Satellite Academy will face the winner of Wadleigh vs Rucker.

Satellite Academy Top Performers - Adonis Orbe (15pts), Joshua Coleman (7pts), Linzell Vaughn (7pts) - John Bowne Boubacar Diallo (15pts)

H. Rucker 67
Wadeigh 54

This is a major upset in the New York City basketball landscape. Rucker is a PSAL Class B program playing in the SBC for the first time, while Wadleigh is in the PSAL AA, SBC veteran. This like LIU beating St. John's University. This wasn't a running clock or 16/20 min. games. This was an official high school game with both schools getting a fair whistle on a professional court on a beautiful Harlem night under the lights.
Rucker who advanced to the PSAL B division semi-final this past season had moments where they looked immature, rushing shots, forcing the fast break, not getting back in transition which makes champions. For the record those moments were few and far between and they executed down the stretch in multiple facets. Wadleigh was scrappy and competed hard, but it was the turnovers, and missed defensive assignments that Coach K.expressed to his team. Wadleigh will use this experience as motivation as they prepare for the upcoming season and be right there in the thick of the Manhattan PSAL championship.
Rucker will face a very tough Satellite Academy in the Elite 8 who smashed them by 30 the last time they met and Rucker athletes remember it very well. One Rucker student who found out they were facing Satellite yelled out, "its not happening again"... See you Monday fellas

Rucker Top Performers - Kaliph Grant (16pts), Derin Anvill (13pts), Tavon Price (9pts), Habib Gaye (8p;ts), Elijah Moody (7pts), Kareem Harley (10pts)

Wadleigh top performers - (Lenny Kadisha 25pts)
