As opposed to having 10-15 long island teams that break-up all the good long island players, why not put together one 17U super travel team. The question is, who do you think should be on that super team (excluding seniors)?

I agree with that, but I doubt it's going to happen. Some of the top underclassmen (JJ Moore for example) know they need big time exposure from being on LI during the year, so when they get a chance to go with a top tier Metro area AAU travel team (like Panthers) and play with some of the more recruited players in the city, they can't turn it down. Then you have Devon McMillan from Uniondale whose roots are in Brooklyn and loyalty is with New Heights, so he won't leave that system. Then there's Tobias Harris and his brother, but Unique All-Stars is its own brand and they pick up some of the best players in the Tri-State to play alongside the Harris bros. Westbury has a lot of the better underclassmen too, but Bunky-Reid is based in Westbury so there's camaraderie and life long bonds there. Lightning Silverstein and Team Underrated get a good mix of kids from all over LI, but the fact is, some of the best talent has ties with AAU programs that can get them exposure on name alone (McMillan, Moore). And some of the kids just wont stray from their situation due to loyalty and chemistry (Westbury/ Bunky Reid).

Unfortunately, loyalty & chemistry, while admirable, don't equal looks or scholarships
