NYCHoops.net got a chance to check out some competitive outdoor action on Sunday at the Nike Swoosh League in Queens. The Boys & Girls Kangaroos faced the Holy Cross Knights. Led by Khamall Dunk, the Knights would upset the Kangaroos, 52-49

Looking uncharacteristically sluggish early, Boys & Girls fell behind by as Ahmad Fall dominated inside for the Knights as the Kangaroos defense was tentative.

Boys & Girls finally fought back, spearheaded by Jeffland Neverson who penetrated effectively in transition, late in the half to finally give them the lead.

Down 29-24 to start the second half, the Knights remained close as guard Khamall Dunk scored from the perimeter. Late in the half, Holy Cross surged ahead by 4 points with 4:40 left to play but Neverson was relentless in the paint. Unfortunately for the Kangaroos, so was Dunk as the Knights extended their lead to 7 points with 3 minutes left to play.

In desperation mode, Coach Elmer Anderson wisely instructed his team to press and the Knights began to fold. Marcus Hooper would step up to give the Knights a slight 3 point cushion with a minute left to play. A put back by Fall would seal the deal for the Knights as time ran out.

Dunk led Holy Cross with 19 points followed by Fall with 14 points. Neverson was the high scorer for Boys & Girls with 18 points.
